SATB Choir, A Cappella

Written for the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church of Denver Choir under Timothy J. Krueger

"Crux Fidelis" is a soft and mystical sacred work reflecting on the significance of the crucifixion.

Scored for SATB Choir with minimal divisi, this a Cappella piece begins with a haunting soprano melody set against a subtle drone. Rich harmony then leads the tune into a darker key as the chorus sings about the features of the cross. Finally, a majestic melody cascades through all parts as the choir reflects on the meaning of the cross, capped by a return to the original melody.

A wonderful work for a "Good Friday" service or the concert hall, "Crux Fidelis" captivates audiences with its emotive journey through faith and reflection.
